ABOUT US
The Imo State Association of the Deaf (IMSAD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the welfare and rights of deaf, hard of hearing and Deaf-Blind individuals in Imo State, Nigeria. Our mission is to empower the deaf community through education, advocacy, and support, and to raise awareness about the unique needs and challenges faced by deaf individuals.
OUR VISION
A society where deaf, hard of hearing and Deaf-Blind individuals have equal access to opportunities, resources, and services, and are fully integrated into all aspects of life.
OUR OBJECTIVES
1. To Foster Deaf culture and awareness Resource
2. To collaborate and partner with non- government and government bodies/agencies at zonal, state, National, and international levels.
3. To organize gatherings/programs for Deaf Adults, CODA (children of Deaf Adults)and parents of Deaf children for collaboration and partnership
4. To provide educational and vocational training programs for deaf individuals
5. To advocate for the rights and interests of deaf individuals in Imo State
6. To raise awareness about deafness and the importance of sign language
7. To provide support and resources for deaf individuals and their families
8. To promote social inclusion and community engagement
